Lene Høst-Madsen, Director, Museum Skanderborg (Denmark)


Director of Museum Skanderborg since 2013. Before this she was Curator in archaeology at the Museum of Copenhagen (2000 -2013). During these teen years, Lene conducted large-scale excavations in Copenhagen. Her research interest lies within the post medieval and later historical archaeology with special interest in material culture, outreach and cocreation. She has published articles and attended international conferences giving papers regarding these themes

Open Doors – a research and transformation project exploring the museum as a social catalyst across communities.

Lene Høst-Madsen will talk about what Museum Skanderborg have learned from being part of the project and how the museum will take that experience into the future museum. She will talk about the importance of user involvement and volunteers to sustain a healthy local history museum and other co-creation projects on the way.
