Travellers by plane can arrive at Katowice International Airport (KTW), known also as Pyrzowice. The airport is 30 km from the city centre with frequent shuttle bus connections to Katowice dropping passengers off near the main railway station (Katowice Dworzec). A ticket for the Airport Bus Service/Matuszek will cost you 6 EURO, you can get your ticket at the driver. Taxis wait directly outside and can deliver you to Katowice for 95-170PLN (22/39 EURO).
You can also arrive via Kraków’s John Paul II International Airport (KRK) which is 65 km from Katowice. From there, you can take the Neobus or FlixBus for less than 5 EURO that will drop you at the Katowice Bus Station in 1 hour.
The third option is to land at Czech Republic Ostrava Airport that is 100 km far away from Katowice. The bus will drop you at Katowice Bus Station after 1:15-hour ride.
Walking from the Katowice Railway Station to the new venue of Muzeum Śląskie takes about 25 minutes. Please head first for the Roundabout, ‘Spodek’ and then the International Conference Centre.
The intercity road (Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa) runs right next to Muzeum Śląskie. The Culture Zone includes a spacious outdoor car park between Muzeum Śląskie and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. You can also use our underground car park accessible from ul. T. Dobrowolskiego, an extension of ul. J. Dudy-Gracza.
From anywhere in Katowice, you can reach us with one of 30 bus and tram lines. The nearby KZK GOP stops are “Katowice Strefa Kultury” and “Katowice Strefa Kultury NOSPR” (for buses) and “Katowice Rondo” (for trams). The closest bus stop, “Katowice Strefa Kultury Muzeum Śląskie,” is served by the bus line 940.
